New York partners Irving Picard, the court-appointed trustee under SIPA in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC (BLMIS), and David Sheehan, court-appointed counsel to the trustee in the liquidation of BLMIS, were featured on the season premiere of CBS' "60 Minutes" program on September 27, 2009, in the story, "The Liquidator."
Picard and Sheehan discussed the complicated process of recovering assets on behalf of the victims of Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme. In the interview, Picard said there is about $18 billion still out there that he hopes to recover for victims of the scam.
