On March 4, 2010, Orlando partners Joyce Ackerbaum Cox and Pat Muldowney spoke at the annual conference of the Florida Association of Healthcare Recruiters (FAHR), the Florida Society for Healthcare Education and Training (FSHET), and the Florida Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (FSHHRA). The conference, which took place at the Hutchinson Island Marriott Resort & Marina in Stuart, Florida, was attended by human resource professionals and hospital administrators from throughout Florida.
Ackerbaum Cox's presentation, entitled "Wage & Hour Collective Actions Target the Healthcare Industry," focused on issues that hospitals and other healthcare providers presently face with respect to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Meanwhile, Muldowney spoke on union organizing in the healthcare industry and recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions in the area of labor and employment law.
