Adam Skilken

Adam Skilken focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and general corporate counseling. He has substantial experience representing private equity clients in acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and strategic investments. He has represented both publicly traded and privately held companies in transactions across a wide range of industries.

Mr. Skilken frequently provides general corporate counseling to portfolio companies of private equity clients. He is experienced with corporate governance and securities and corporate finance matters.

Mr. Skilken’s practice has included a number of multi-national transactions, including the representation of domestic companies investing internationally, as well as foreign companies investing in the United States. He has represented investment banks in their capacity as underwriters and also has significant experience representing both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy and restructuring transactions.

• Representation of Sterling Partners in the acquisition of a platform company in the records and information management industry, including multiple add-on acquisitions.
• Acquisition of multinational consumer products division on behalf of a publicly traded U.S. company.
• Restructuring of multiple portfolio companies on behalf of Chicago-based private equity firm.
• Acquisition of surgical products division on behalf of publicly traded medical device company.
• Acquisition of heavy equipment manufacturer on behalf of non-U.S. private equity firm.
• Disposition of industrial manufacturing and distribution business on behalf of Chicago-based private equity firm.
