Alan deVries focuses his practice in the area of complex business litigation. He joined Baker Hostetler in May 2010 as a law clerk following his second year of law school, continued part-time during his final year of school and was hired as a staff attorney in May 2011. Mr. deVries has worked on several matters for the Trustee in the Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities SIPA litigation, including extensive fact investigation and analysis, deposition preparation and drafting complaints.
While in law school, Mr. deVries served as Managing Editor of the Ohio State Law Journal. He was also on the managing board for the International Law Society and was involved with the Public Interest Law Foundation and the Pro Bono Research Group. Additionally, Mr. deVries was a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Peggy Bryant of the Tenth District Court of Appeals of Ohio and worked for Professor Daniel C.K. Chow as a research assistant on his International Business Transactions casebook. Mr. deVries received the Academic Merit Scholarship and CALI Awards for Excellence in his Property and Business Law Seminar classes. During his undergraduate years, Mr. deVries was a member of The Ohio State University Marching Band.
Mr. deVries is a member of the Ohio State and American Bar Associations.
