Alec Wightman served as an Executive Partner of Baker Hostetler from January 2004 until June 2008. He previously served for more than 10 years as the firm’s Legal Services Partner, with responsibility for coordinating the firm’s national system of substantive legal practices and industry teams, and formerly served as a member of the firm’s Policy Committee.
Mr. Wightman’s law practice covers a wide range of business and business-related areas, with substantial experience in the healthcare industry. He represents private and public companies and is the lawyer-in-charge of the firm’s relationship with a FORTUNE 20 healthcare services company. Mr. Wightman also has substantial experience in bankruptcy and workouts, including the representation of debtors, official and unofficial creditors’ committees, secured and unsecured creditors and third-party purchasers and plan proponents in Chapter 11 cases.
Mr. Wightman is a member of the American, Ohio and Columbus Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Cleveland Rock and Roll, Inc., which operates the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, and serves on its Executive Committee and as Chair of its Development Committee. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute at The Ohio State University, as well as its Foundation Board, of which he is a past president. Mr. Wightman is also a member of the National Council of The Ohio State University’s Michael E. Moritz College of Law Alumni Society and the Board of Trustees of Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. Mr. Wightman has been named in The Best Lawyers in America since 1997.
