Andrea C. Wall (formerly Csomos) concentrates her practice in the area of real estate law. She counsels clients in matters relating to the acquisition, disposition, development, construction, permitting, leasing, operation, management, financing, zoning and taxation of real property. Her work involves transactions covering all types of real property, including commercial, retail, industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, residential and investment facilities.
Andrea teams with clients in a broad range of real estate activities including shopping center development, mixed use land development, free-standing retail store and restaurant development, land assemblage, leasing of major urban and suburban office buildings, retail leasing, landfill acquisition and permitting, multifamily apartment development and project financing.
Andrea handles multistate and multifaceted transactions and represents owners, developers, contractors, landlords, tenants, buyers, sellers, lenders, retailers, brokers and managers.
Andrea also has experience representing clients in connection with transfers of physical assets through the Department of Housing and Urban Development, pursuit of re-zoning, lot splits and consolidations through municipal planning commissions, application for forestland and other real estate tax exemptions and litigation of real estate tax disputes through county boards of revision and the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals.
Andrea has significant experience drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, options, ground leases, office and retail leases, development agreements, construction documents, easements, restrictive covenants, land use agreements, mortgages, brokerage agreements and escrow documents. She has also developed a substantial background in resolving title and survey issues.
Andrea earned her J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law, summa cum laude, in 2001, where she was Valedictorian and was inducted into The Order of the Coif. While in law school, Andrea was a judicial intern to the Honorable David A. Katz, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio. In addition, Andrea was an Associate Member of The University of Toledo Law Review, and a contracts teaching assistant for the Assistant Dean of the University of Toledo College of Law.
In 2005 and 2007, Andrea was named one of Ohio's Rising Stars by Law & Politics magazine as a result of surveys of the Ohio Super Lawyers. In conducting the surveys, more than 2,000 ballots seeking nominations were sent to lawyers throughout the state. After screening the top nominees, a blue-ribbon panel of lawyers used a scoring formula, with votes from lawyers outside the nominee's firm weighted greater than votes from within the firm, to make its final selections.
Andrea is a member of the American, Ohio and Cleveland Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law section of the American Bar Association, the Real Property Law section of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Real Estate Law section of the Cleveland Bar Association.
