Partner David Waller, published “Resales and Timeshare’s Sticky Wicket” in the Summer/Fall 2011 issue of Colorado Real Estate News, a newsletter from the Department of Regulatory Agencies Division of Real Estate.
Mr. Waller, who is working on several legislative bills addressing timeshare resales, was asked to draft the article by the Colorado Division of Real Estate. Waller explains that, between 1994 and 2007, timeshare sales had grown to $10 billion. However, during and after the Great Recession, the number (and, not coincidentally, the average age) of timeshare owners looking to sell through the resale market has increased dramatically. The article offers owner associations some detailed advice as to dealing with this dramatic change.
