The addition of three new attorneys to the firm's Washington, D.C., office was noted in the May 18, 2010, Legal Times blog post, "Baker Hostetler Adds Three to Antitrust Practice in D.C." Click to read the firm press release announcing the addition of partner John ("Jack") Fornaciari, of counsel Robert Disch and associate Jeremy Keim.
Fornaciari advises clients on RICO claims, freeze-out mergers, and claims of breach of duty, conspiracy, mail fraud and wire fraud. He also handles merger clearances and has designed and implemented antitrust and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance programs for companies in the United States and abroad. Disch represents clients in state and federal civil and criminal antitrust investigations, private treble-damage antitrust actions and other commercial litigation and white-collar criminal defense matters. Keim focuses on issues relating to the Sherman Act, Clayton Act, Federal Trade Commission Act and Hart-Scott-Rodino Act.
According to the article, Fornaciari said he had not been planning to make a move, but after being contacted by a recruiter he "realized that Baker Hostetler had a lot going on." Pointing to Baker Hostetler partner Irving Picard's work as the trustee working to untangle the Madoff Ponzi scheme, Fornaciari said the firm "has a lot of dynamic work going on." Fornaciari brings with him a book of business that includes clients such as the accounting firm Reznick Group, Yusen Air & Sea Service, and the Japanese shipping company NYK Line.
