Cleveland partner Kelly Burgan, attorney to the Trustee of the now bankrupt Fair Finance Co. of Akron, Ohio, expressed the importance of auctioning the assets of the company’s owner, Tim Durham, in a video posted on Local TV USA and WISHTV8.com.
Burgan said that this is the best chance of getting back any of the $200 million that 5,000 investors lost. “As of right now, the most significant tangible assets that we have are the artwork and the vehicles.”
The items being auctioned include valuable artwork by Peter Max, Picasso and Norman Rockwell, among others. Two of Durham’s cars were previously auctioned for $300,000. Durham’s art collection will go to auction in Cleveland, Ohio, on October 16, 2010.
