Baker Hostetler Announces New Associates

CLEVELAND, January 9, 2009 – The national law firm of Baker & Hostetler LLP has announced the addition of 20 associates in eight offices. Representing many of the country’s top law schools, this year’s class includes former editors of law school publications and members of numerous academic organizations.

New associate in the firm’s Cincinnati office: 

  • Robert A. Oestreicher earned his law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

New associates in the firm’s Cleveland office:

  • Erin R. Barker-Brown earned her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she served as Chief Managing Editor of the Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law. Barker-Brown served as a law clerk for the Honorable Nancy K. Johnson, United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She earned her master’s degree from The Ohio State University and her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Mount Union College.
  • Joseph M. Esmont earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, completing a double major at Towson University.
  • Susan Whittaker Hughes earned her law degree, summa cum laude, from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where she served as Business Editor of the Cleveland State Law Review. She earned her master's degree, summa cum laude, and her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Ohio University.
  • Erin K. Murdock earned her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the Texas International Law Journal. Murdock interned for the Honorable Frank R. Monroe in the United States Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Texas. She earned her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from The Ohio State University.
  • Matthew Oliver earned his law degree, cum laude, from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he served as Associate Editor of the Ohio State Law Journal. Oliver served as a summer clerk for the Honorable James L. Flannery, Warren County Court of Common Pleas. He earned his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from The Ohio State University.
  • Alexis C. Osburn earned her law degree, summa cum laude, from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where she served as Research Editor of the Cleveland State Law Review. She earned her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Bowling Green State University.
  • Christopher J. Stanek earned his law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he served as a staff member and Associate Editor of the Ohio State Law Journal. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University.

New associates in the firm’s Columbus office: 

  • Magdeline K. McAllister earned her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, where she served as Note and Comment Editor of the North Carolina Journal of International Law & Commercial Regulation. McAllister served as a law clerk for the Honorable Mark D. Martin, North Carolina Supreme Court. She earned her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina.
  • Catherine E. Woltering earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she served as the Articles Editor of The Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. She earned her bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Kenyon College.

New associate in the firm’s Denver office: 

  • Tina U. Amin earned her law degree from the University of Colorado, where she served as Editor of the Journal on Telecommunications and High Technology Law. During her third year of law school, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Michael L. Bender, Colorado Supreme Court. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, with high honors, in International Relations, French, and Economics.

New associates in the firm’s Houston office: 

  • Ameena Ashfaq earned her law degree from Vanderbilt University. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas.
  • Adam R. Law earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas.
  • Robyn R. Goldstein earned her law degree from the University of Houston. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas.
  • Joshua C. Thomas earned his law degree from the University of Houston. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University.

New associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office: 

  • Sierus P. Erdelyi earned his law degree from the University of California. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California.

New associates in the firm’s New York office: 

  • Francesca Ambrosio earned her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan where she served as an Associate Editor for the University of Michigan Law Review and published a student Note. She earned her master's degree, summa cum laude, from the Catholic University of America and earned her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University.
  • M. Elizabeth Howe earned her law degree from Northwestern University, where she served as a Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Law and Social Policy. She earned dual bachelor’s degrees, cum laude, from the University of Washington, Honors College.
  • Christy Monier earned her law degree, summa cum laude, from New York Law School, where she served as Associate Editor of the New York Law School Law Review. Monier was the recipient of the New York Law School Murray Stockman Memorial Award for the highest average in the Law of Evidence for the day division. She earned her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of Texas at Austin.

New associate in the firm’s Orlando office:

  • Krista A. Sivick earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law where she served as a member of the Florida State University Law Review and The Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law. Sivick served as an intern for the Honorable Edwin B. Browning of the First District Court of Appeal. She earned her bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Hartford.
