Cleveland Plain Dealer: José Feliciano Profiled

Cleveland partner José Feliciano was profiled in a column in the August 2, 2009, edition of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Feliciano, former Chief Prosecuting lawyer for the City of Cleveland and a Cuyahoga County public defender, is very active in the Cleveland business and Hispanic communities, including founder and current Chairman of the Hispanic Roundtable.

Feliciano, who was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Cleveland with his family as a young child, was asked to recount some of his Cleveland "favorites" and memories. Said Feliciano of his first impression of Cleveland: "Our family came to the United States in 1952 from Yauco, Puerto Rico. My first memory of Cleveland is living with another Puerto Rican family on West 11th Street. Then, Cleveland had nearly a million people residing within the city limits . . . I can remember going [to the West Side Market] as a child with my mother and father to shop. I hated it then. When my wife, Molly, and I lived in Ohio City, I learned to love it. It is America."
