Cleveland partner José Feliciano was quoted in an August 6, 2009, Cleveland Plain Dealer article, "Sotomayor's Confirmation is an inspiration to Northeast Ohio Latinos."
According to the article, in Northeast Ohio's Latino community, which is overwhelmingly Puerto Rican, many see a reflection of themselves or their parents in the woman who will soon be known as Justice Sonia Sotomayor. "I think her story is the Puerto Rican story," said Feliciano, whose parents brought him to Cleveland from Yauco, Puerto Rico, at age 2. "She met the challenges. She enjoyed the blessings of liberty and opportunity that are America," he said. "You know, for us, it's like what Roberto Clemente did for baseball. It's like that, squared. She's electrified the Hispanic community."
