Constantine Economides works on a variety of litigation matters, including international litigation proceedings, in connection with Baker Hostetler’s role as counsel to the court-appointed Trustee under the Securities Investor Protection Act in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. Mr. Economides has significant experience with international service of process, international discovery and the procedural and substantive elements of litigating against foreign—as well as domestic—defendants in federal court.
Prior to joining Baker Hostetler, Mr. Economides earned an LL.M. in International Legal Studies, with a concentration in litigation and arbitration. While earning his J.D. and LL.M., Mr. Economides served as an extern for the Honorable Michael H. Watson of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and as an intern for the Honorable Timothy C. Stanceu of the United States Court of International Trade. During law school, he served as an intern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio and as a managing editor for The Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law. Mr. Economides placed highly in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and the William C. Vis International Arbitration Moot.
