Cleveland partner José Feliciano was quoted in a March 23, 2009, Crain's Cleveland Business article, "Economic Inclusion Group Criticized for Exclusive Ways."
According to the article, Gustavo "Gus" Hoyas, chairman of the Hispanic Business Association in Cleveland, criticized the area's business leaders for what he sees as lagging opportunities for Hispanic businesses. He was critical in particular of the Commission on Economic Inclusion, a program of the Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP) designed to expand opportunities for minorities in corporate management and as contractors to companies that are commission members.
Feliciano, who serves on the Commission's advisory board, said Hoyas' complaint has substance, but he believes the inclusion commission and GCP are sincere in their efforts to improve the situation of minorities, Hispanics included. "He's raised some legitimate issues and I'm looking forward to working with Gus and the GCP on the issues, and I know GCP wants to be responsive," Feliciano said.
