David G. Holcombe

David Holcombe serves as Partner-In-Charge of Baker Hostetler’s Cincinnati office, as Firmwide Legal Services Partner and as Firmwide Business Development Partner. In addition to his leadership roles, Mr. Holcombe has a national employment practice encompassing the full range of employment litigation matters and employment relations counseling.

Mr. Holcombe is certified as a Specialist in Labor & Employment Law by the Ohio State Bar Association. He is also recognized as a 2010 and 2011 BTI Client Service All-Star for providing exceptional client service and maintains an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Holcombe’s primary area of emphasis is representing Baker Hostetler’s national clients in employment-related litigation. He represents management in defending against Section 301, Title VII, ADEA, ADA, ERISA, restrictive covenants, retaliation, wage and hour and wrongful discharge claims in federal and state courts throughout the United States at both trial and appellate levels.

Coupled with his employment litigation experience, Mr. Holcombe counsels clients in the review of employment policies, practices, manuals and handbooks to ensure compliance with federal and state laws. His work includes providing training on these issues for supervisors and managers.

Further, Mr. Holcombe maintains a sophisticated labor relations practice, representing employers in National Labor Relations Board and other administrative agency proceedings. He also provides defense for complex labor litigation matters and represents employers in arbitrations and other forms of alternate dispute resolution. Additionally, Mr. Holcombe assists clients in responding to union organizational activities, advises and represents employers in labor contract negotiations and labor contract administration and handles employment-at-will matters.

Mr. Holcombe’s clients span a broad range of industries, including media (newspapers and broadcast television), manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and communications.

Mr. Holcombe was named “Leading Lawyer” by Cincy Magazine in 2011 and has been repeatedly named a Cincinnati “Super Lawyer” by Law & Politics since 2005. He is a member of the American, Ohio State and Cincinnati Bar Associations.
