DC Office Adds Government Contracting Partner Hilary Cairnie
WASHINGTON, DC – November 18, 2009 – Baker Hostetler announced today the addition of government contracting partner Hilary S. Cairnie to its Business Group. Mr. Cairnie, who was most recently Of Counsel with Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, will be resident in Baker Hostetler’s Washington, D.C., office.
Mr. Cairnie focuses his practice in public contract law. His experience encompasses virtually all aspects of government contract law, including contract formation, performance, administration and enforcement controversies at the federal and state levels. With degrees in engineering and several years of experience working as an engineer for various companies, Mr. Cairnie is able to apply his technical background to assist clients involved in aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding, transportation, construction, software development, medical and healthcare, engineering and research and development, among others.
In addition, Mr. Cairnie negotiates and prepares technology licensing agreements involving patents and trade secrets, and copyrights and trademarks. He counsels clients on the unique issues associated with conceptualization and reduction to practice of subject inventions developed under federally funded procurement contracts and other agreements, technical data, computer software and other works.
