Edward G. Ptaszek, Jr.
Edward G. Ptaszek Jr. has developed special experience in federal and state taxation, with a particular emphasis on tax planning for corporations and partnerships. He has extensive experience in planning for joint ventures between major enterprises, real estate development and business formation, and in the tax aspects of securitized asset-backed financing and tax-exempt financing.
Mr. Ptaszek has represented various entities and their owners in connection with both the acquisition and disposition of substantial business enterprises and has counseled many clients regarding the transfer of control and value of closely held business interests from generation to generation. In addition, he has successfully represented various clients in administrative proceedings before the Internal Revenue Service.
Mr. Ptaszek is active in the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and is also a member of the General Tax Committees of the Ohio and Columbus Bar Associations. He has participated as a lecturer for various programs sponsored by the National Institute on Real Estate Taxation, New York University Continuing Education Programs, the American, Columbus and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations, the Ohio Legal Center, and the Greater Cleveland Growth Association, and has written articles published in national legal and accounting publications.
Mr. Ptaszek was the chief financial officer of a closely held business enterprise before attending law school. While attending law school, Mr. Ptaszek was employed in the national tax department of one of the major national accounting firms.
