Elise Elam works on a variety of bankruptcy and securities litigation matters, including investigation in support of the firm’s role as counsel to the court-appointed Trustee under SIPA in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.
During her law school career, Ms. Elam was a fellow with the Glenn M. Weaver Institute of Law and Psychiatry. During her fellowship, she co-authored an article titled “Risky Business Versus Overt Acts: What Relevance Do ‘Actuarial,’ Probabilistic Risk Assessments Have for Judicial Decisions on Involuntary Psychiatric Hospitalization?” which will be published in the Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy.
Ms. Elam also worked as law clerk for a Cincinnati law firm where she worked on a variety of litigation matters, including toxic tort and securities class actions, employment cases and appeals.
Ms. Elam was a fellow with the Ohio Innocence Project where she investigated cases for evidence of wrongful convictions and wrote motions to request DNA testing.
Ms. Elam is a member of the American, Ohio State and Cincinnati Bar Associations.
