Ellen Shadur represents private and public entities in labor and employment matters. Her traditional labor practice includes representation of employers in collective bargaining, grievance arbitrations and unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and the California Public Employment Relations Board.
Ms. Shadur also has extensive experience negotiating employment, separation and trade secret agreements, including in connection with the formation and acquisition of companies, and litigation and counseling involving hiring, discipline, disability and leave issues, discrimination and harassment, wage and hour claims and protection of trade secrets. Ms. Shadur brings to her practice formal training and practice as a mediator. In addition, from 1991 to 1996, Ms. Shadur served as the Associate General Counsel of the Saurer Group, a Swiss textile manufacturing entity. Based in the Principality of Monaco, Ms. Shadur was responsible for oversight of legal matters involving U.S. subsidiaries, in addition to supporting European finance and operations. This training and experience informs Ms. Shadur’s business-oriented and practical problem-solving approach, and as a result, Ms. Shadur has often been called upon to bring closure to protracted labor disputes. Ms. Shadur has represented entities spanning a broad range of sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality, film and broadcast television, municipalities and special districts, public and private universities, and K-12 school and community college districts.
Ms. Shadur is fluent in French.
