Emily A. Howard

Emily Howard assists in a variety of bankruptcy and litigation matters in connection with Baker Hostetler’s role as counsel to the court-appointed trustee under SIPA in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.

Prior to joining Baker Hostetler, Ms. Howard was an associate in the New York office of Vedder Price, PC, where she represented lenders and borrowers, both internationally and domestically, in connection with equipment finance transactions. Ms. Howard began her legal career in 2005 at Moore & Van Allen, PLLC in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she was an associate in the Mezzanine Finance Group.

Ms. Howard graduated from the Northwestern University School of Law in 2005, where she was active in the Bluhm Legal Clinic, the Student Bar Association and the Black Law Students Association.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Howard worked for two years as a Teach for America corps member, where she taught fourth and second grades at an elementary school in Harlem, New York City.

Ms. Howard is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Counsel of Urban Professionals.
