Farrell Hochmuth joined the Houston office of Baker Hostetler in November 2003. She assists in a wide variety of business and commercial litigation matters focusing on the defense of clients in civil matters, including complex civil litigation, contract disputes, admiralty, insurance and energy.
Ms. Hochmuth has appeared in both state and federal court and has considerable experience litigating contract disputes on behalf of major energy companies. Ms. Hochmuth was an integral member of the trial team that obtained a defense verdict in a breach of contract and bad faith pooling jury trial for an oil and gas company, and recently first chaired a breach of contract case for an energy services company in Harris County, Texas. Ms. Hochmuth also prevailed in a litigated breach of contract/warranty case before the AAA.
Ms. Hochmuth is currently representing an energy company in an insurance coverage dispute and has experience with the Texas Insurance Commission.
Ms. Hochmuth has secured three victories in the Texas Courts of Appeal in dealer litigation for a large motor vehicle manufacturer, all of which were affirmed on appeal by the Texas Supreme Court.
In 1998, Ms. Hochmuth was selected as a United States Fulbright Scholar and completed her thesis on indigenous agriculture in Zimbabwe, Africa. She also participated in a law study abroad program in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2001.
Ms. Hochmuth has been recognized in Texas Monthly magazine as a “Rising Star” every year since 2009.Ms. Hochmuth is a member of the Texas Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association and the Texas Young Lawyers Association.
