José C. Feliciano Appointed Chair of the Advisory Group for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio
CLEVELAND, OH – September 18, 2008 – José C. Feliciano, a Litigation partner in Baker Hostetler's Cleveland office and a past-President of the Cleveland Bar Association, has been appointed Chair of the Advisory Group for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio by Chief Judge James G. Carr.
The Advisory Group is comprised of over 40 attorneys representing all areas of practice that come before the Court and also includes representatives of each of the law schools within the district.
The mission of the Group is to bring matters of interest to the bar and the community to the attention of the Court and to assist in the implementation of Court adopted programs. Mr. Feliciano, who has been a member of the Advisory Group since 2005, intends to take a prospective view to recommending and promoting Group activities.
“I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve in the capacity of Chair because of the important work undertaken by the Advisory Group” said Feliciano. “I look forward to continuing to give back to the larger legal community in my new role and hopefully help in improving the administration of justice.”
Established in 1991 when the Court was designated a demonstration district for Differentiated Case Management under the Civil Justice Reform Act of 1990, the Advisory Group helped develop and popularize the Differentiated Case Management Plan and wide menu of Alternative Dispute Resolution options which the Court has used since 1992.
