Fernando A. Bohorquez, Jr.

Mr. Bohorquez practices aggressively, professionally and effectively, handling an array of business and commercial litigation, intellectual property disputes and white collar investigations. He has knowledge and experience with all procedural phases of civil litigation, from pretrial discovery and motion practice to mediation, arbitration, trial and appeals. While at Baker Hostetler, Mr. Bohorquez has successfully represented various corporate and institutional clients, including media and telecommunications companies, health and beauty care industry corporations, pharmaceutical companies and other businesses. He has protected his clients’ intellectual property and commercial rights in state and federal courts, and has represented and counseled individuals in state and federal regulatory and criminal investigations.

Mr. Bohorquez is an active member of the legal community, serving as Chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Civil Rights, and on the Executive Committee of the New York Chapter of the American Constitution Society. He formerly served as Secretary of the New York City Bar’s Pro Bono and Legal Services Committee. Mr. Bohorquez was recently appointed to the Board of LatinoJustice PRLDEF. And as a member of the New York Chapter of the Hispanic National Bar Association, he serves on the Youth Outreach Committee and as Co-Chair of the General Counsel Committee, in which capacity he has moderated several panels on law firm diversity initiatives. Mr. Bohorquez has successfully represented indigent immigrants pro bono through the New York City Bar Justice Center’s Special Registration Project, Immigrant Women & Children’s Program, as well as the National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children. In 2006, Mr. Bohorquez was one of three alums to be honored by New York Law School’s Latino Law Student Association for his contributions to the Latino legal community.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bohorquez clerked for the Honorable Gerald Bruce Lee in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. During his clerkship, he assisted Judge Lee in managing a heavy case docket that addressed a wide range of matters, such as the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and Internet spam regulation. Before clerking, Mr. Bohorquez was a fellow at the Institute for Public Representation (IPR) at Georgetown University Law Center. At IPR, he represented various civil rights and consumer rights groups before the FCC, FTC and the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia on an array of public interest media law issues.
