BakerHostetler's Diversity Commitment

Recruiting, retaining and promoting minority and women attorneys is more than just "the right thing to do." It is a business imperative. The firm's commitment to diversity is internal to our own lawyers and external to our clients. In addition to our other diversity initiatives, such as the Diverse Attorney Conference and Paul White Scholarship program, we are working aggressively to hire senior minority lawyers who will provide role models for our young lawyers and enhance our ability to provide diverse staffing at an experienced level on client projects.

BakerHostetler has made a long-term commitment to incorporate diversity within our workforce and business strategies by recruiting, retaining and promoting women and minority attorneys at all levels.

We recognize that in order to serve the needs of our diverse client base, our lawyer population needs to be equally diverse. It is because of these differences that we can bring a variety of perspectives and experiences together and provide creative solutions for the challenges our clients face.

Our commitment to diversity and our efforts have been recognized nationally and at the individual lawyer level. A few of our recent honors include:

• Ranked in the Top 20 for “Diversity for Minorities” in 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 Vault Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms
• Cleveland partner José Feliciano awarded “Spirit of Excellence” award by the ABA's Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity
• MCCA "Sager Award" Honorable Mention (Midwest Region 2005)

We are proud of the results thus far and recognize the need to continue to work toward creating an ever more inclusive environment where individual differences are appreciated, valued and leveraged to meet our clients' needs.
