Francesca Harker is responsible for handling a variety of litigation matters and focuses her practice in the areas of general commercial litigation and white collar and corporate criminal matters. Ms. Harker has represented clients, both individuals and corporations, in complex commercial litigation matters, as well as in formal and informal investigations by the United States Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Harker is also involved in the investigation conducted in connection with Baker Hostetler’s role as counsel to the court-appointed trustee under SIPA in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.
During law school, Ms. Harker served as a legal clerk at the Center for Individual Rights, where she assisted with a variety of constitutional cases at the appellate level. Also during law school, Ms. Harker was an associate editor for the University of Michigan Law Review and published her student Note, “When Courts Shouldn’t Take the Initiative: Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, Initiative Petitions, and Operation King’s Dream,” 105 Mich. L. Rev. 2011 (2007).
