Gary L. Bryenton

Gary L. Bryenton is a senior partner and former Executive Partner of the firm. He practices in the general business and corporate area and handles a broad range of matters involving individuals, partnerships, municipal corporations, and closely held corporations. He has had extensive experience with real estate transactions, mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, loan agreements, and the representation of principal shareholders, officers, and directors in business and tax planning.

Mr. Bryenton represents individuals and business entities engaged in a wide array of enterprises, including major national real estate operators and developers, computer technology, retail stores, major league baseball, paper and packaging, publishing, chemicals, manufacturing, and service businesses.

Mr. Bryenton represents and counsels professionals and executives in structuring business and professional entities and in financial planning. He was lead counsel in the firm's representation of a client in its acquisition and restructuring of a major league baseball franchise and the development of a major league sports complex. 

Mr. Bryenton served on the firm's Policy Committee from January 1989 through December 2003, was Managing Partner of the Cleveland office from January 1989 through June 1996, was Chief Operating Officer of the firm from July 1996 through May 1997, and was Executive Partner of the firm from June 1997 through December 2003. He has also held a number of other administrative positions with the firm, including Chairman of the Recruiting Committee, Chairman of the Practice Development Committee, and Chairman of the firm's Community Relations and Political Action Committees.

Mr. Bryenton has served as a Trustee of the Cleveland Bar Association, a member of its Professional Ethics Committee, and Editor of the Cleveland Bar Journal. He also serves on the boards of directors of many corporations and on the boards of trustees of numerous charitable and civic organizations. 

Mr. Bryenton presently is a member of the Board of Trustees of Heidelberg College, having served as Chair from 1995 to 2007, as well as a member of Board of The Hayes Presidential Center. He is a former Board member of the Cleveland Orchestra and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

Mr. Bryenton holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
