Gillian Whittlesey focuses on complex commercial litigation. Ms. Whittlesey has worked on cases involving breach of contract, securities, business torts, copyright and trademark infringement, noncompetition agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets and employment and labor disputes. She has worked on complex cases involving an ERISA “stock-drop” class action and an adversary proceeding to recover avoidable transfers.
Ms. Whittlesey handles many aspects of case development and trial preparation, including pleadings, motion practice, dispositive motions, discovery and discovery disputes. She has represented clients before state and federal courts, arbitrators, the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Ms. Whittlesey has also worked with clients on developing alternative dispute resolutions.
Prior to joining Baker Hostetler, Ms. Whittlesey served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lesley Wells of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
Ms. Whittlesey earned her B.A. in Political Science from Miami University, graduating cum laude. She graduated Order of the Coif, Order of the Barristers and cum laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she was a member of the ABA moot court team.
Ms. Whittlesey is a member of the American, Illinois, Ohio and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations.
