Irving H. Picard Joins Baker Hostetler

Court-Appointed Trustee in Madoff Investment Fraud Investigation Joins Baker Hostetler in New York

New York – December 22, 2008 – Baker & Hostetler LLP announced today that Irving H. Picard has joined the firm in its New York City office. Mr. Picard, a noted expert in bankruptcy and restructuring, currently serves as the Court-appointed trustee under the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.

"Irving's depth of knowledge in complicated restructurings and experience as a trustee in major securities cases is widely recognized," said George Stamboulidis, Head of the firm's White Collar and Corporate Investigations Practice. "We are extremely pleased he will be joining our team and look forward to drawing on his expertise," said Stamboulidis, who will become Managing Partner of the firm’s New York office effective January 1, 2009. It's a great fit."
