Jeannette Owen Roegge concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, and federal, gift and generation skipping transfer taxation.
Ms. Roegge assists individuals and families with their estate planning needs. She is experienced in all aspects of estate planning, including the drafting of wills and revocable trusts, as well as other sophisticated strategies, such as generation skipping transfer tax planning, gift programs, creation of family-limited partnerships, charitable gift planning, grantor retained annuity trusts, life insurance trusts and business succession planning.
Her experience with representing executors and trustees complements her representation of fiduciaries through all stages of estate and trust administration, including will contests, trust accounting and will and trust construction actions.
Ms. Roegge’s practice includes the preparation of gift and estate tax returns. She also represents fiduciaries in estate and gift tax audits before the IRS and in matters before the U.S. Tax Court. She has worked closely with the IRS on behalf of her clients.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Roegge was an associate in the Estate Planning Group at Furey, Doolan & Abell, LLP in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Prior to joining Furey, Doolan & Abell, Ms. Roegge was an associate in the estate planning group at Best & Flanagan, LLP, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Ms. Roegge is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association (Trusts and Estates Section), the Maryland Bar Association (Trusts and Estates Section) and the American Bar Association (Real Property, Trusts and Estates Section).
