Jeremiah Wood has successfully represented multiple automotive manufacturers in litigation matters, at both the trial and appellate levels, in matters involving state Lemon Laws, breach of warranty, UCC and consumer protection law. Mr. Wood’s work in this area involves direct supervision of local counsel in several jurisdictions and overall responsibility for all cases filed against a large domestic automobile manufacturer in seven different states.
The defense of these consumer matters involve case development and evaluation, significant motion practice (both with discovery issues and dispositive motions), preparation of expert witnesses and settlement negotiations. During his tenure, Mr. Wood has handled hundreds of cases to resolution.
Recently, Mr. Wood was able to obtain summary judgment in favor of a manufacturer claim on the basis that more than the plaintiff’s subjective belief that the vehicle was defective was required to maintain a claim under Ohio’s Lemon Law.
Prior to joining Baker Hostetler, Mr. Wood was an associate with a northeast Ohio law firm where he concentrated his practice on commercial and employment litigation matters.
Mr. Wood is a member of the American, Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations.
