A member of the firm’s Business Group, Real Estate Team and Green Business and Sustainability Team, Jessica Malchow holds the distinction of being a Florida Bar Certified Real Estate Attorney. She counsels clients in matters related to property acquisitions and sales, leasing, finance, permitting, operation, management, development and redevelopment, zoning, land use planning and approvals for a wide range of property types, including commercial, retail, industrial, residential and mixed-use projects.
Ms. Malchow’s practice includes the representation of land owners, developers, buyers and sellers, tenants and landlords, lenders and borrowers and owners of multistate commercial real estate operations, including apartment complexes, industrial warehouses and distribution facilities, office buildings and shopping centers, and she has substantial experience representing national homebuilders.
Ms. Malchow assists clients in complex, multifaceted real estate activities and financing transactions. Her assistance to clients runs the gamut from negotiating on behalf of clients and drafting the multitude of documents needed for each transaction, to resolving title and survey issues and strategic planning with the client and other consultants to achieve client objectives. Ms. Malchow routinely represents clients in structuring transactions to minimize transfer and mortgage tax implications. Ms. Malchow was named a “2010 Rising Star” by Florida Super Lawyers magazine.
Ms. Malchow is very active in the Central Florida business and civic community. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association; Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar; the Central Florida Real Estate Council (CFREC) and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). Ms. Malchow is past chair/president of the 2008-2010 Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of Citrus Council, Inc., (GSCC) the local Girl Scout council serving six Central Florida counties. She also served as Director of Programs on the 2010 Board of Directors for CREW Orlando and chaired the Steering Committee of the 2010 Habitat Orlando Women Build Project. She regularly participates in the pro bono program through the Orange County Legal Aid Society and is the Chair of the GSCC alumnae committee for the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouting in the U.S. in 2012.
