Jesús Castillón is responsible for a variety of legal matters and focuses his practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation, corporate investigations and customs and export controls.
Mr. Castillón has been instrumental in asserting general and specific jurisdiction, compelling arbitration, transferring venue, responding to seizure notices and drafting voluntary disclosures to the Bureau of Industry and Security and the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
Mr. Castillón has also successfully represented a large financial institution in a series of collection matters and is involved on a team representing an oil and gas exploration company in an international breach of contract dispute. In addition, he is part of the team representing Irving H. Picard, the Trustee in connection with the investigation and liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.
During law school, Mr. Castillón was an editor of the Houston Journal of International Law and was the representative to the American Bar Association. He also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Dennis G. Green of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Del Rio Division. Mr. Castillón was recognized with the University of Houston’s Distinguished Service Award and The University of Texas’ Most Outstanding Student Award.
Mr. Castillón is a native Texan and is fluent in Spanish. He is a member of the Houston and American Bar Associations and the Texas Young Lawyers Association. Mr. Castillón is also a member of his office’s diversity committee and a past member of the recruiting committee.
