Joel Mayo maintains an active and diverse commercial real estate practice with emphasis on real estate acquisition and development, commercial leasing, land use and entitlement and real estate-related financing. Joel represents numerous public and private companies both locally and regionally, with extensive experience serving as lead local counsel for many of the firm’s national clients in connection with their relocation and expansion into Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.
Joel represents and assists clients in a wide variety of commercial, industrial and mixed-use real estate transactions, where his experience includes actively negotiating and documenting the acquisition, divestment and leasing of real property; performing due diligence for acquisition, leasing and financing; advising and assisting clients with entitlement issues both pre and post-closing; and representing clients on entitlement and land use issues in front of governmental and regulatory commissions and agencies.

Joel currently serves on the membership committee for the Colorado chapter of NAIOP, a national association representing and advocating for the interests of commercial developers, and is also a member of the real estate section of the Colorado Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Rocky Mountain Nature Association, a non-profit corporation partnering with and supporting Rocky Mountain National Park and similar public lands though interpretive and educational publications and programs and advancing stewardship, preservation and restoration of these lands though philanthropic efforts.
