John Bennett practices all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secrets and unfair competition, with an emphasis on patent litigation. His background in software design supplements his experience in handling large and complex litigation matters in some of the leading intellectual property litigation venues.
Most recently, Mr. Bennett represented defendants in one of the largest patent multidistrict proceedings in history, which involved a portfolio of more than fifty patents in the field of automated call processing relating to automated call distributors, interactive voice response products, computer telephone integration and speech recognition.
Mr. Bennett is a regular speaker on a variety of intellectual property topics. Recently, he discussed “Proving Disgorgement Damages in a Copyright Infringement Case” to the Cincinnati Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Litigation Committee.
Mr. Bennett is a member of the Cincinnati, Ohio State, American and Federal Circuit Bar Associations. Prior to joining Baker Hostetler, Mr. Bennett was an associate with Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP. Mr. Bennett has been listed as a “Rising Star” in the 2010 and 2011 editions of Ohio Super Lawyers.
