During more than 35 years of practice, John Bruce has participated in trial and appellate cases before federal and state courts, federal administrative law judges, and regulatory agencies across the country. He has extensive experience in all aspects of complex commercial litigation, and antitrust and trade regulation matters, including practice before the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice Antitrust Division, as well as extensive experience in the area of international trade representing U.S. industry interests in unfair trade practice proceedings and customs disputes.

  • Been involved in the full range of private and governmental antitrust challenges in regard to pricing, distribution, monopolization, market, and customer allocation, and the full range of horizontal and vertical governmental and private disputes in numerous industries, including petroleum, cement, heavy machinery, auto after-market parts, agricultural products, work tools and small machinery, watches and many others.

  • Defending personal injury and crop damage claims, and litigating distributorship disputes for a major formulator of agricultural pesticides, herbicides and fungicides.
  • Involved in multiple building products and personal injury asbestos case litigation.
  • Involved in multiple unfair trade antidumping and countervailing duty cases for a building materials industry and others.
  • Serves as counsel to various industry associations in the construction materials and agricultural commodity areas.
  • Involved in commercial dispute litigation regarding distribution conflicts and marketing practices for various segments of the liquor, wine and beer industries.
  • Involved in FTC and antitrust division practice regarding multiple products and services, from cement to land sales, funeral services, alcoholic beverages, and agricultural products, and consumer product misrepresentation and other consumer protection issues.
