John Weber is a partner in BakerHostetler’s Washington, D.C., office and is the head of our Intellectual Property, Technology and Media Group. Mr. Weber conducts a practice that concentrates on intellectual property portfolio management and enforcement, with particular focus on counseling, search opinions, domestic and foreign prosecution of trademark applications, licensing and patent litigation.
Mr. Weber began practicing trademark law with Borg-Warner Corporation in Chicago, where he served as trademark counsel. He moved to Washington in 1986 and practiced with an intellectual property boutique before joining Baker Hostetler in 2001.
Mr. Weber recently completed two terms on BakerHostetler’s Policy Committee, which functions as the firm’s governing body. He is a member of the European Communities Trade Mark Association and has served on several committees of the International Trademark Association and the Federal Bar Association. Mr. Weber has been recognized by his peers in The International Who’s Who of Trademark Lawyers. He served in the U.S. Army infantry from 1968 to 1970 and was awarded the Purple Heart and Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
