Kelu L. Sullivan

Kelu Sullivan is a member of Baker Hostetler’s Intellectual Property team. She advises clients on their international trademark portfolios and engages in domestic and international trademark prosecution matters, domain name registration and enforcement and unfair competition matters. Ms. Sullivan also represents clients in intellectual property litigation matters in Federal Courts; inter partes and ex parte proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and domain name arbitrations. As a part of Ms. Sullivan’s representation of clients in intellectual property matters, she conducts trademark clearance searches, drafts availability opinions and is involved with IP due diligence during business acquisitions and divestures, with special interest in compliance of open source software licenses.

Ms. Sullivan is the Vice Chair of the Open-Source Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association, Vice Chair for the Young Lawyers Committee and a member of the CHIP Award Committee of the DC Bar IP Law Section. Ms. Sullivan served on the Board of Directors of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association Educational Fund (AEF) for the 2009-2011 term and is a contributor to American Bar Association Intellectual Property Section’s 2010 Annual Review of Intellectual Property Law Developments. She is an active member of the Trademark and Copyright committees of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the International Trademark Association.

During law school, Ms. Sullivan was a member of the Journal of Law and Politics and served as Articles Editor during her third year. Ms. Sullivan participated in the Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court Competition, William Lile Minor Moot Court Competition and the National Moot Court Competition.

Ms. Sullivan’s published articles include, “Orphan Works at the Dawn of Digitzation,” Richmond Journal of Law and Technology, XVIII Rich. J.L. Tech. 6 (Winter 2012)

Ms. Sullivan speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese.
