Cleveland partner José Feliciano was featured in the June 2009 edition of Latinos magazine, Northeast Ohio's premier English/Spanish magazine, in the article, "Interview with a Latino Pillar of Cleveland."
Feliciano was profiled for his involvement in the Cleveland and regional Hispanic community. He is the founder and Chairman of the Hispanic Roundtable, former Chairman of the Hispanic Leadership Development Program, founder of the Hispanic Community Forum, for which he also served as President, and is a founder of the Ohio Hispanic Bar Association and served as its Vice President.
Feliciano was selected as "Hispanic of the Year" by the Nueves Horizontes newspaper in 2002. He received the Federal Bar Association "Boots Fisher Civic Achievement Award," as well as the "Hispanic Political Action Committee Civic Award" for his dedication to professional development and service to numerous nonprofit charitable organizations. Additionally, Feliciano was recently recognized by the Hispanic Business Association, receiving the 2008 "Legacy Award" for service and leadership.
Feliciano discussed how the Roundtable came into existence, its mission and how it established its priorities. Feliciano also discussed the community of young Latinos, and the role they are playing in education, public policy and business in the Cleveland area, as well as the various organizations which provide training and leadership development and networking activities for young Latinos. While acknowledging the various programs, organizations and efforts, Feliciano said, "in general, there has been significant progress, but more progress needs to be made."
