Law360: Baker Hostetler Boosts IP Practice With Taft Hires

The recent addition of Intellectual Property partners David Mancino and Kevin Kirsch to the firm's Cincinnati office was the focus of the January 22, 2010, Law360 article, "Baker Hostetler Boosts IP Practice With Taft Hires."

Mancino previously led Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP's patent prosecution practice, while Kirsch was the head of his former firm's nationwide patent litigation practice. "The addition of such talented and respected practitioners to our already outstanding team of attorneys enhances our ability to service an increasingly sophisticated client roster, not just locally, but across the nation," said David Holcombe, Partner-in-Charge of Baker Hostetler's Cincinnati office.

According to the article, Mancino said he and Kirsch were persuaded to join Baker Hostetler because of its national platform and greater resources. Their clients also enjoy the depth of the firm and the rate structure, he said. "It's not only an opportunity for us to expand what we have been doing, but it also gives our clients the greater resources that Baker provides," Mancino said.

Kirsch said the two had been working on a national platform at Taft, litigating cases all over the United States. "We wanted to be able to litigate more aggressively in California and Chicago, and this new platform provides us additional opportunities," Kirsch said.
