Law360: Songwriter Sampled In 'My Humps' Wins Copyright Feud

New York partner Oren Warshavsky was quoted in the January 22, 2010, Law360 article, "Songwriter Sampled In 'My Humps' Wins Copyright Feud."

According to the article, a man who co-wrote a song that was later sampled by the pop group The Black Eyed Peas in their hit song "My Humps" has won a copyright suit against his collaborator, who illegally granted a license to the music group without the plaintiff's consent.

Warshavsky, who represented the plaintiff, said he was pleased with the verdict and hinted that there could be damages totaling millions of dollars ahead since The Black Eyed Peas song became a global hit.
