Lesley Portnoy’s practice and research focuses on the intersection of intellectual property, technology, social media, financing and securities law.
In addition to advising clients on general corporate matters, Mr. Portnoy has been involved in matters representing a variety of companies with a focus on securities regulation, technology acquisition and development, business formation, early stage financing, strategic business acquisition, software licensing and cloud computing, licensing of print and digital content, general e-commerce counseling, counseling regarding Dodd-Frank legislation and commercial agreement negotiation.
Mr. Portnoy has acted in a variety of capacities on behalf of the court-appointed Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, including in the areas of the Trustee’s avoidance actions, sale of assets and investigations.
Mr. Portnoy actively supports and involves himself with various non-profit organizations, including the Moshulu Montefiore Community Center and UJA-Federation. Mr. Portnoy publishes frequently on a wide range of legal subjects and was an articles editor for the New York Law School Law Review, as well as a Harlan Scholar associate of the Center for New York City Law.
