Marc E. Hirschfield

Marc Hirschfield is a member of the Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights Group and the Debt Finance Group.

Mr. Hirschfield is experienced in all aspects of insolvency and reorganization practice. He regularly represents debtors, creditors’ committees, debtor-in-possession lenders, secured and unsecured creditors and acquirers of assets in both out-of-court workouts and bankruptcy cases. He is experienced in cross-border insolvency cases, having been involved in cases in various countries such as Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Canada and Australia. Mr. Hirschfield was honored in the 2010 and 2011 editions of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Mr. Hirschfield also has significant experience in representing commercial lenders providing asset-based loans, senior, mezzanine and second lien financings. He has represented GE Healthcare Financial Services, CIT Group, Sankaty Advisors and AlpInvest in numerous financing transactions involving companies in the food and beverage, healthcare, technology, automotive, construction, aviation and manufacturing industries.

Mr. Hirschfield is a court certified mediator and has been appointed to the Mediation Panels for the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of Delaware. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and previously clerked for the Honorable Richard J. Arcara, U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York.
