Maryanne Stanganelli is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property, Technology and Media Group. She is also currently a member of the BakerHostetler legal team that serves as Counsel to the SIPA Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, working on the global investigation and litigations of the largest financial fraud in history.
In 2011, Ms. Stanganelli received her LL.M. degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a focus on Information Technology and Communications Law. Her article, “Spreading the News Online: A Fine Balance of Copyright and Freedom of Expression in News Aggregation,” is forthcoming in the European Intellectual Property Review. During this time, Ms. Stanganelli worked as a Foreign Qualified Associate at the London office of Taylor Wessing, LLP.
Ms. Stanganelli also has a demonstrated commitment to public interest work. She has handled pro bono matters for the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. In the 2006-07 academic year, Ms. Stanganelli ran a law school clinical program dedicated to law, public policy and ethics at the University of Miami School of Law’s Center for Ethics and Public Service.
During law school, Ms. Stanganelli was a member of the Fordham Law Review and served as a legal intern for the Honorable Arthur D. Spatt in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
