Maryland Ubaid’s practice involves working on a variety of litigation matters in connection with Baker Hostetler’s role as counsel to the court-appointed Trustee under the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.
During her law school career, Ms. Ubaid was a clinician in the Employment Law Clinic where she represented individuals seeking unemployment compensation benefits. In addition, she served on the Student Bar Association as a student senator. She was also a recipient of the Urban League Achievement Award.
Ms. Ubaid has prior experience in family and personal injury law, as well as experience with the Housing Court and in front of the Cuyahoga County Board of Revision concerning commercial property value matters.
Ms. Ubaid is a member of the American, Ohio State, Cleveland Metropolitan (CMBA) and West Shore Bar Associations. She is an AmeriCorps alumni and currently volunteers with the CMBA’s 3R’s Program.
Ms. Ubaid speaks fluent Arabic.
