Washington, D.C., partner Tom McDonald, who heads the firm's Government Policy Practice Group and was U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe from 1997-2001, has been appointed by Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley to the newly formed Governor's International Advisory Council. The Council will provide strategic advice, direction, and guidance to the Governor and Maryland's Department of Business and Economic Development on ways to enhance Maryland's global profile.
The Council is comprised of a diverse group of senior government and private sector executives with experience in bioscience, manufacturing, financial, advanced technology, education, agricultural, transportation, and non-profit sectors. This seasoned group will guide the State's efforts to attract and grow international companies and help craft policy and legislation that supports Maryland's strong and diverse network of international businesses.
