Melissa DeGaetano has experience in both federal and state courts on various general and commercial litigation matters. She has worked on corporate criminal investigations and has represented clients in disputes arising out of partnership, employment, sales and other agreements. Ms. DeGaetano has participated in many aspects of case development and trial preparation, including extensive involvement with discovery and discovery disputes. She has taken and defended several depositions, has experience with motion practice and has obtained several favorable decisions at the summary judgment stage which have been upheld on appeal. She also has significant experience in defending libel suits and other media-related litigation matters, including those involving Internet publications.
During law school, Ms. DeGaetano was a Note Editor for the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform.
