Michael R. Matthias

Michael Matthias focuses his practice on business and commercial litigation. He has extensive experience in handling securities, real estate, false advertising, trade secret, tax and other complex corporate litigation. His practice includes Securities and Exchange Commission investigations and civil enforcement defense, as well as investigations conducted by state regulatory authorities and self-regulatory agencies. In addition, Mr. Matthias has substantial experience in litigation involving financial institutions and the financial services area, including secured transacations, commercial code and lending practice matters, as well as complex collection-related matters.

Mr. Matthias has participated in, supervised, and/or has been primarily responsible for civil actions in state and federal courts throughout the country, as well as FINRA (formerly NASD) and other arbitrations. He has been involved in all aspects thereof, including pre-litigation analysis, pleadings, law and motion, discovery, trial preparation, settlement, trial, appeal and enforcement of judgments. He also serves as a private mediator and arbitrator.

Mr. Matthias is a member of the American and Los Angeles County Bar Associations and the Los Angeles Superior Court Business Law Arbitration and Mediation Panels (pro bono).
