Ms. Marck focuses her practice in the areas of tax advice, planning and controversy. She has federal and New York state tax experience counseling clients on a range of subject matters, including the taxation of corporations, estates and individuals, acquisitions, withholding tax compliance and sales and use tax compliance. In addition, Ms. Marck has significant experience in the area of complex business litigation. In that regard, she has worked on a variety of litigation and investigatory matters, including litigation involving foreign corporations, in connection with Baker Hostetler’s role as counsel to the court-appointed Trustee under the Securities Investor Protection Act in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Marck was an associate at another prominent law firm in New York where she represented creditors, debtors and creditors’ committees in complex liquidations and restructurings throughout the United States. While there, she co-authored an article regarding pension plan premiums for The Bankruptcy Strategist. During law school, Ms. Marck served as a judicial intern for the Honorable John T. Nixon of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
Ms. Marck also dedicates her time to various pro bono matters, including projects in association with Immigration Equality and InMotion.
Ms. Marck is a member of the American Bar Association (Tax Section), the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers’ Association. She is also a member of the Baker Hostetler Women’s Steering Committee. In 2011, Ms. Marck was selected as a “Rising Star” by New York Super Lawyers.
