On February 17, 2009, Orlando partner Pat Muldowney addressed the Central Florida Human Resource Association ("CFHRA") on legal issues confronting HR professionals in the current economic climate.
Muldowney, the immediate Past President of CFHRA, partnered with local employee outplacement specialist Robert Newland to discuss issues such as analyzing potential discrimination claims arising from layoffs, the legal requirements for obtaining valid releases in connection with severance programs, and the triggering of notice obligations under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification ("WARN") Act.
