Naima Garvin focuses her practice on general and complex commercial litigation, as well as criminal matters and regulatory enforcement.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Garvin was an associate in the general litigation department of the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. There, she practiced complex commercial litigation and worked on a variety of matters, including the successful defense of a FORTUNE 500 company in a breach of contract, patent inventorship, trade secret misappropriation and other business tort dispute relating to hybrid motor technology, which resulted in a favorable, confidential settlement on the eve of trial. Along with this work, Ms. Garvin maintained an active litigation and transactional pro bono practice that included a successful prisoner’s rights appeal in the Fourth Circuit and successful self-petitions under the Violence Against Women Act.
While in law school, Ms. Garvin served on the Executive Board of the New York University Law Review as a Senior Executive Editor.
Ms. Garvin is a member of the Executive Board of the Black, Latino, Asian Pacific American Law Alumni Association (BLAPA), a junior board member of the Center for Family Representation, Inc. (CFR) and a member of the American Bar Association.
